israeli racism, hasidic technofear, regime change and war against israel’s “enemies”

israel:  a state of paranoia

the state of israel is the model for the future – a future once described by geroge orwell as “…a boot, stamping on a human face, forever…”

orwell’s masterpiece of speculative fiction 1984 described long-standing, permanent mega-states in perpetual warfare against one another, with the wars fought in the middle east and central asia – the scenario being played out now, as there is no end in sight for wars of occupation in iraq and afghanistan, while terrorist groups destabalize the governments in countries surrounding israel, the u.s. demands regime change in syria, obama shows no interest in any option but war with iran, and has already become enmeshed in a civil war in yemen.

in the following newstories, you can readily see how racism and other aspects of xenophobia guarantee both that israel always has enemies ready to destroy it – from without and “within” – and that the u.s. will always be its compliant vassal.

welcome to the era of the paranoid security state, created by lunatics with nuclear weapons, for the sake for lunatics with guns.

Demonstrators attack African migrants in south Tel Aviv

Some 1,000 protesters rallied in Tel Aviv’s Hatikva neighborhood on Wednesday and called for the ousting of African asylum seekers from Israel.

Demonstrators attacked African passersby while others lit garbage cans on fire and smashed car windows.

Another group of demonstrators stopped a shuttle taxi and searched for migrant workers among the passengers, while banging on the windows.

The crowd cried “The people want the Sudanese deported” and “Infiltrators get out of our home.”

Likud MK Miri Regev participated in the protest and said that “the Sudanese were a cancer in our body.”

The protesters expressed their dismay with  Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the government’s dealings with the “problem” of asylum seekers. Some people carried signs in support of Interior Minister Eli Yishai, who called for the detention and expulsion of all asylum seekers earlier this week.

Following the protest, hundreds of people assembled in the main street of the Hatikvah neighborhood. Several protesters smashed the windows of a grocery store that served the migrant workers community, broke the windows of a barber shop and looted it.

Police arrested 17 people during the protest, with some of them detained while beating Sudanese migrants. Those arrested will be brought in before the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court on Thursday for an extension of their remand.

Earlier Wednesday, Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein said he supported the mass deportation of South Sudanese migrants if an investigation will find that they are not legally entitled to refuge.

Weinstein will argue next week before the Jerusalem District Court that there is no legal obstacle to the expulsions since individual checks will establish that none of them face any threat to their lives in South Sudan.

Settlers shooting Palestinians with IDF escort

In the latest scandal involving the Israeli military, soldiers stand by and refuse to intervene as extremist Jewish settlers open fire on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

A video clip released by the Israeli human rights group B’Tselem shows armed settlers from Yitzhar settlements, near Nablus, attacked the nearby village of Asira al-Qibliya over the weekend and threw rocks at Palestinian homes, sparking clashes in the area.

The footage also shows the settlers, who were armed with two M-16 assault rifles and a pistol, shooting Palestinians in the presence of at least three soldiers. The Israeli soldiers only watched the violence and did nothing to stop the settlers. One soldier is also seen running away from the unrest.

A 24-year-old Palestinian man was injured in the shooting and five others were wounded by settlers who were throwing stones.

B’Tselem has filed a complaint with the police, urging an investigation into the incident, saying that the soldiers “did not adhere to their obligation to protect Palestinians from settler violence.”

It has also called for the prosecution of the settlers involved in the violence.

Rights groups have repeatedly accused Israeli troops of refusing to protect Palestinians against the Jewish settlers. Former West Bank Division Commander Brigadier General Nitzan Alon has also said that Israeli soldiers have not been working enough to stop settler attacks on Palestinians.

Israeli settlers, mostly armed, regularly attack Palestinian villages and farms and set fire to their mosques, olive groves and other properties in the occupied West Bank in what they believe to be the “price tag” for every outpost or West Bank settlement that is demolished.

Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank are illegal under the international law.

TODAY: MAY 26; Palestinian shot, wounded in settler attack

Palestinians say dozens of Israeli settlers set Palestinian-owned fields on fire in an attack that left a farmer wounded by a gunshot.

The Israeli military says it is investigating Saturday’s attack and shooting near the village of Orif. The village is near the settlement of Yitzhar, one of the most militant in the West Bank. Yitzhar settlers have repeatedly been involved in clashes with Palestinian farmers.

Palestinian witnesses say several dozen settlers approached Orif and set fields on fire. At one point, settlers and Palestinians threw rocks at each other. The villagers say they later found a wounded villager in a field who had been tied, beaten and shot. A hospital doctor, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to release the information, says the man was shot in the abdomen.

A documentary by Iranian filmaker Maziar Bahari on the Mujahedin-e Khalq, a designated U.S. foreign terrorist organization.

Massoud Rajavi is the leader of this bizarre Iranian Cult who over the years helped Ayatollah Khomeini overthow the Shah, then declared war on the Islamic Republic ruthlessly killing their fellow countrymen. They allied themselves with Saddam Hussein but now that he is gone are ardent supporters of the coalition. The MEK has switched allegiances so often that any underlying ideology is long gone.

Now the MEK is on the verge of getting off the U.S. list of terrorist organizations as a result of a multi-million dollar media & lobbying blitz.

U.S. tells G8 Syria’s Assad must go, cites Yemen as model

The Group of Eight leaders, in a statement summing up their discussions, urged all parties in Syria to adhere to their commitments under a joint U.N.-Arab League peace plan “in cluding immediately ceasing all violence so as to enable a Syrian-led, inclusive political transition leading to a democratic, plural political system.”

Ben Rhodes, an Obama deputy national security adviser, said the recent focus on securing access for U.N. monitors and keeping track of ceasefires had distracted from the fundamental problems in Syria, where Assad, whose father ruled the country before him, has been attacking protesters for 14 months.

The United Nations estimates some 9,000 people have been killed in Syria since the start of the uprising in March 2011, when unrest that toppled leaders in Egypt, Tunisia and elsewhere was spreading across North Africa.

60,000 ultra-Orthodox Jews fill Citi Field and Arthur Ashe Stadium to denounce evils of the Internet

The rally was organized by a little-known rabbinical group called Ichud Hakehillos L’tohar Hamachane — the Union of Communities for the Purity of the Camp — to spread the word that online activities can lead to porn, child abuse and other acts of immorality.

But Eytan Kobre, who runs a Jewish family weekly magazine in Brooklyn and serves as the group’s spokesman, insists it is not calling for a ban on Internet use, but wants to use filters to manage it.

“With one click, all of a sudden, you lose control and are whisked away to a world you never intended to see, and it overtakes your life,” he said. “As a community, we are asking, is it worth it?”

Kobre cited social media like Facebook and Twitter that he argues can lead people away from prayer, community and family and cause social ruination.

“I know that Facebook ruins marriages,” he said.
